At BURNINBORDZ, the artistry of our cutting boards begins with a meticulous selection of wood species. Each piece is carefully chosen for its unique grain and rich color, enhancing the visual appeal of the hand-burned pyrography designs. Furthermore, we prioritize wood with excellent bacteriostatic properties, ensuring that every board not only looks stunning but also remains hygienic for food preparation and serving.

• Wood Species

  • Acacia: Known for its rich and varied color ranging from light yellow to dark red. It has distinctive grain patterns and an unusual property known as chatoyancy, which means it appears to change color and luster in different lighting conditions. 

  • Beech: A light colored wood with a fine, straight grain.

  • Walnut: Typically dark; but just as with any natural material, there can be a lot of variation in its color.

• Dimensions: Cutting boards are measured as width (measurement from side to side) by length (measured from top of handle to bottom of board). Thicknesses will vary based on type and style of board.

• Shapes: Either round or rectangular.

• Material: Boards are premium, sustainable hardwoods that are considered naturally antibacterial, which means they can help prevent the growth of harmful bacteria on the surface of the cutting board when properly cleaned and maintained.

• Finish: Cutting boards are treated with a food-safe mineral oil and beeswax combination. This finish not only enhances the beauty of the wood but also protects the surface from drying out.

• Handcrafted: Each board is individually wood-burned, making it one-of-a-kind. Natural variations in wood color and wood grain are normal among the various species of wood.

• Care: Easy to clean with mild soap and warm water (do not put in dishwasher); occasional oiling with a food-grade mineral oil is recommended to maintain the board’s natural beauty.

• Returns: We do accept returns. All returned items must arrive in good condition and show no signs of damage or alteration. Refunds are issued once the product has been received and inspected. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we’re committed to earning your trust and continued business.
